But before you make the final decision and book that reservation, there are some things that you should consider. Every traveler dreams of staying in the hotel of his dreams, who wouldn’t want great hotel accommodations when in traveling to another place.

You should consider the location whenever you’re looking for a hotel. Check whether if it is near tourist spots, restaurants and shopping malls. If you’re traveling for business, you’ll want to be close to the offices and meeting places in your itinerary. If you’re planning an event or a conference, check if the hotel has complete meeting and event facilities. It would be better to schedule the conference within the hotel premises, so that guests would not get lost. Search whether the hotel is accessible to cabs or buses. You’ll never know when you need to make last minute stops and of course you need to have transportation options to fulfill all your errands and stops.

The hotel’s facilities and equipment should also be looked into. Make a checklist on what services you wish to have like fitness centers, swimming pools, spas, restaurants, bars, recreation areas and other services you might need. Make sure that you’re hotel has all the things you need in order to avoid disappointments and meltdowns. Verify if they have complimentary offers like breakfast, toiletries, use of facilities and wireless internet service. Details are always important; cable television, room service, towels and cleaning services should be available.

A hotel is a home away from home. Hotels should always do their best to make it feel like home. When looking for great hotels, carefully consider a lot of things before making that final decision. The needs of each guest vary but a great hotel can cater to all the whims and needs of each hotel guest.

Obviously, you can decide upon something out of the same Portsmouth travel guide which everybody and their cousin has owned during the last five years, but that does not imply you’ll have a very nice experience (actually, it may practically promise a lousy one!). Alternatively, it is a smart idea to do a tiny bit of exploration, making use of your pal the Internet. Locals will always know the most reliable hotels in their own city, just what the best rooms are, and the most popular days to go to their chosen parts of the city. Alternatively, it is a smart idea to do a tiny bit of exploration, making use of your pal the Internet. Locals will always know the most reliable hotels in their own city, just what the best rooms are, and the most popular days to go to their chosen parts of the city. But you do not want to be going up to anyone you happen across in the airport in Portsmouth, requesting their hints and tips. So instead, we’ve compiled a brief listing of our 3 most-loved hotels in Portsmouth for you. These are the ones we recommend to our family when they return to visit – but as we don’t want you to think we’re just being biased, the following are the reviews from Yelp.com:

1. Ale House Inn
121 Bow St
Portsmouth, NH 03801
(603) 431-7760
www.alehouseinn.com

Great place. Had everything we needed and wanted. We ended up staying an extra night so we got to try out both room sizes. The king suite was big enough for a dance party and the smaller one was perfect for watching movies in bed. The keurig / ipad came in super handy and Scott (the concierge) is a super cool dude.

- Matthew R. (Boston, MA)

2. Hilton Garden Inn
100 High St
Portsmouth, NH 03804
(603) 431-1499
www.hilton.com

We definitely enjoyed our stay here. A little more pricey then some others, but you get what you pay for here. The front desk was nice, and they seemed pretty willing to help with any requests that we had. The rooms were really clean, and seemed fairly updated, including a large bathroom. The lobby is also large and welcoming. They have a nice bar and restaurant if you don’t care to venture out for some reason, or you want a late night drink. This hotel is located within walking distance to down town, which is great. I would stay here again, and would recommend it to anyone.

- Christopher M. (South Grafton, MA)

3. Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside Hotel
250 Market St
Portsmouth, NH 03801
(603) 431-2300
www.starwoodhotels.com

I’ve never actually stayed at the Portsmouth Sheraton, but I’ve worked from there. Staff is very helpful, the internet is fast (big plus) and the breakfast is very good. I had the smoked salmon plate, I normally like my Salmon more pink that it was, but it was very good.

All the guests with us also had great breakfasts. We’ve had some not great dinners but overall a very good place and you can’t beat the view!

- Ellen F. (Boston, MA)

We’re almost positive something there will suit your choices! Portsmouth, NH is legendary for all these hotels (and more!), considering that tourism is so important to our beautiful and radiant metropolis. If it turns out you’ve visited one of these restaurants and you are not happy, send us a message to tell us! Or, if you’ve uncovered a concealed gem all on your own, please reveal it to us so that we can update our web site to aid the next travellers!

The people at Fully Researched asked me to include a bit about them on my blog, but I’d have been willing to do it anyways since I’m so grateful to them for all their help in getting me going with this whole blogging thing. I never knew how it all worked before, but I’m glad that I finally get a chance to use my computer skills for something that will help other people the way I’ve been helped by the internet. They let me do all my learning from home, which was great since it’s a real hassle for me to leave the house. Be sure to check them out and see if they can help you get going too!
